What do you think about in your daily life? Do you think about how lucky you are to have a family who loves and cares for you? Maybe you think about how you are well off and have everything under control with no uncertainty. Or you could be blind sided form those thoughts and could have other reflections like how nothing is ever working out for you or how you always have bad fortune. And you never really think about how life could be worse because you are so focused on wanting just one positive thing to happen to you. People who think like this will soon hopefully realize what they actually have that makes them happy. Happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasure that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom. Benjamin Franklin had the right idea when he said this. It is the little things in life that really, truly get to us and make our lives whole. The meaning behind this passage is that we need to recognize what happens in our daily life that makes us sincerely happy and that we should not take what we have for granted rather than having that once glimpse of serendipity that we think will change our lives forever. We do not think about what we really have going for us on a day-to-day basis and we think about what our lives would be like if we could just get some luck.
